Quick answers to common questions about canceling an order and refunds after cancellation on ShopEarl
How do I cancel my order?
Go to your Orders page on ShopEarl, find the order, and select "Cancel Order." You can request to cancel for free before the order ships. The seller must approve the cancellation — just like a return request, it does not happen right away. Cancellation requests are not guaranteed. The seller has 3 business days to respond. If they don't respond in time, ShopEarl will step in and process the cancellation on your behalf. Once the cancellation is accepted, your refund is issued automatically.

Can I cancel an order that already shipped?
No. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled. If you no longer need the part, you can start a return after it arrives. This is treated as a standard return, and return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund. No restocking fees apply.

I canceled by mistake — can I get my order back?
No. Cancellations on ShopEarl are final and cannot be reinstated or undone. If you canceled by mistake or changed your mind after canceling, you will need to place a new order for the part.

Why did the seller cancel my order?
Sellers may cancel for valid reasons under ShopEarl policy: the part is out of stock, damaged or defective before shipping, listed incorrectly, or shipping costs are too high. In every case, you receive a full refund automatically. If you still need the part, you can search for it on ShopEarl and place a new order, or call our sales team at (312) 971-2616 for help finding another option.

The seller canceled my order and relisted the same part — what's going on?
We take this seriously. If a seller cancels your order and then relists the same part — especially at a higher price — contact our support team with your order number. We will reach out to the seller directly to address it. This behavior erodes trust in the marketplace, and ShopEarl does not condone it. You will receive a full refund for the canceled order.

When will I get my refund after cancellation?
Once an order is canceled, your refund is issued automatically — whether you requested the cancellation or the seller initiated it. It can take up to 10 days for the refund to appear on your bank or credit card statement. All cancellation refunds are for the full amount — pre-shipment cancellations are free.
