My Tracking Link Isn't Working

What to do if your tracking number shows no results or isn't updating.

If your tracking link isn't showing any results or hasn't updated in a while, there are a few possible reasons.

Common reasons tracking may not work:

  • The tracking number was just created. It can take up to 24 hours after the seller provides a tracking number for the carrier to start showing updates. Check back the next day.
  • The carrier isn't integrated with our tracking system. Some sellers use carriers that are not integrated with Aftership, which means real-time tracking updates may not appear on your Orders page. In these cases, try entering the tracking number directly on the carrier's website.
  • The shipment is LTL freight. Large or heavy parts (such as engines, transmissions, and body panels) are often shipped via LTL (less-than-truckload) freight carriers. These carriers frequently do not provide the same tracking experience as standard parcel carriers like UPS or FedEx. LTL freight tracking may show limited updates, use unfamiliar carrier names, or require you to contact the freight company directly for status.

What to do if your tracking isn't working:

  1. Wait at least 24 hours after receiving the tracking number before troubleshooting
  2. Try entering the tracking number directly on the carrier's website (the carrier name is usually listed on your Orders page)
  3. If the carrier name is unfamiliar or unavailable, it may be an LTL freight carrier — contact our support team with your order number and we can look into it
  4. You can also use the "Message Seller" button on your Orders page to ask the seller for a tracking update

About LTL freight shipments:

LTL freight is a common shipping method for large auto parts. Unlike standard parcel carriers, freight carriers often have limited online tracking, and delivery updates may not appear in real time. In some cases, the specific freight carrier may not be immediately known — our support team may need to contact the seller to find out which carrier is being used. If your order is shipping via freight, the seller or our support team can provide the most accurate status update.
