My Part Arrived Damaged
Steps to take if your part was damaged during shipping or arrived defective.
If your part arrived damaged during shipping or is defective, you are eligible for a full refund, and the seller covers return shipping.
What to do first:
Take photos of the damage before doing anything else. Photos of the part, the packaging, and the shipping label will help speed up the return process.
How to start a return for a damaged part:
- Go to your Orders page on ShopEarl
- Select the order and choose "Return Item"
- Select the reason: damaged or defective
- Upload your photos when prompted
- Submit your return request
What to expect:
- The seller will review your request and may reach out with follow-up questions to validate the damage claim. This back-and-forth is normal — responding quickly with clear photos helps move things along.
- Once validated, the seller covers all return shipping costs
- You will receive a full refund after the seller receives and inspects the part (3 business days for standard parts, 10 business days for engines, transmissions, and control modules)
- Bank processing can add up to 10 days after the refund is issued
Important notes:
- Keep the original packaging until the return is complete. The seller or carrier may need it for a damage claim.
- Used and remanufactured parts are expected to show signs of prior use. Cosmetic wear that was visible in the listing photos is not considered damage.
- Do not ship the part back until you receive the return label or return instructions from the seller.
