Shipping Policy

Shipping costs, processing times, delivery estimates, and what to know about freight shipments.

Shipping coverage:

ShopEarl ships to the continental 48 United States only. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or international destinations.

Shipping costs:

Shipping costs are determined by the size and weight of the item and the delivery destination.

  • Small parcel items: Shipping is free for all small parcel items.
  • LTL (freight) items: Large or heavy items shipped via LTL freight may have additional fees.
    • Residential delivery surcharge: When purchasing large items that ship by LTL freight, a surcharge may apply for delivery to a residential address or a business address that the freight carrier does not recognize as a commercial address. This surcharge is typically $100-$300 and covers specialized equipment, such as a liftgate, and the difficulty of navigating smaller streets with large freight trucks.
    • Always ensure your delivery address type (residential vs. commercial) is selected accurately at checkout to avoid shipping delays or additional charges. Commercial address validation is determined by the carrier, and not all businesses will qualify as a commercial address. Any freight order that ships to a non-commercial shipping address may result in additional charges.
  • No outside fees: Sellers are strictly prohibited from charging or requesting additional shipping fees outside of the ShopEarl checkout and invoice process.

We do our very best to provide free shipping on all parts. However, because used parts are unique, a seller may occasionally cancel an order due to the size of the part or prohibitive shipping costs. If the seller cancels your order for this reason, you will receive a full refund — no questions asked — and our parts experts will be available to help you find an alternative solution.

Processing times:

Used parts often require preparation — sometimes including dismantling or rebuilding — before they can be shipped. This processing time is added to the overall delivery estimate.

  • Unbolted parts: Parts that are already removed from the vehicle and ready to be packaged and shipped.
  • Yard parts: Parts still on the vehicle that must be dismantled by the seller before they can be packaged and shipped. This generally takes 1-3 business days, depending on the part.

Seller processing expectations:

All sellers are expected to ship orders within 2 business days or notify the buyer accordingly. Delays may occur if the part is a yard part (requires dismantling) or a freight item (requires carrier scheduling). In either case, the seller should be communicating with the buyer about the timeline.

If an order has not shipped within 5 business days, ShopEarl can cancel the order and issue a full refund.

Estimated delivery times after shipment:

Once your order ships, estimated delivery depends on the shipping method:

  • Small parcel (UPS, FedEx, etc.): 3 to 7 business days
  • LTL freight: 5 to 14 business days

These are estimates and may vary based on carrier, distance, and other factors. The estimated processing and delivery time is shown on the listing page for each product.

If an order does not ship by the estimated ship date, the buyer may request a cancellation, although a cancellation is not guaranteed when requested more than 10 minutes after the order was placed.

Communication for timely shipping:

Sellers may wait to ship a part if they have questions about fitment or part options. Monitoring the message portal available from your orders' page is important for the timely communication required for fulfillment.

Order tracking:

After your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information. You can also check your order status at any time from your Orders page.

Refusing delivery of an order:

  • Small parcel shipments: Do not refuse delivery. Accept the package and start a standard return through your Orders page. If you refuse a small-parcel delivery, you may be charged for both the original outbound shipping and the return shipping costs.
  • LTL freight shipments: Only refuse delivery if the item is damaged on arrival or if ShopEarl or the seller has instructed you to refuse it. Otherwise, accept the delivery and start a standard return. If you refuse a freight delivery without one of those reasons, you may be charged for both the original outbound shipping and the return shipping costs, and the amounts will be deducted from your refund.
