Shipping Times and Delivery Estimates
Understand how long it takes for orders to ship and arrive on ShopEarl.
Shipping times on ShopEarl depend on the seller's processing time, the type of part, and the shipping method used.
Seller processing time:
Sellers have 2 business days to ship your order after it is placed. Most sellers ship within this window, but some orders may take longer depending on the part type.
Yard parts — additional processing time:
Some parts are "yard parts" — they are still installed in a vehicle at the seller's yard and need to be removed before shipping. Yard parts typically require an additional 1 to 3 business days for dismantling before they can be shipped. If your part is a yard part, the seller may note this on the listing or contact you with an estimated timeline.
Delivery estimates by shipping method:
- Standard parcel shipping (UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc.): Delivery typically takes 3 to 7 business days after shipping, depending on the origin and destination. Real-time tracking updates are available on your Orders page.
- LTL freight shipping: Large or heavy parts (such as engines, transmissions, and body panels) are often shipped via LTL freight. Freight deliveries typically take 5 to 14 business days after shipping, depending on distance and carrier availability. Freight carriers may contact you to schedule a delivery appointment.
Why delivery times vary:
- Sellers ship from locations across the country, so transit times depend on how far the part needs to travel.
- LTL freight carriers make multiple stops along the route, which can add time compared to direct parcel delivery.
- Weather, holidays, and carrier capacity can affect delivery timelines.
LTL freight to a residential address — liftgate fee:
If your order is shipping via LTL freight to a residential address, an additional liftgate fee (typically $100-$300) may be required at checkout. Residential locations typically lack the equipment (such as a forklift) needed to unload large, heavy items from a freight truck, so the carrier must use a liftgate to lower the item to the ground.
If you provide a commercial address at checkout, the liftgate fee will not apply. However, if you select to ship to a commercial address but provide a residential address instead, your order will be placed on hold. You will be contacted and given two options:
- Pay the liftgate fee — a separate invoice will be sent for the liftgate charge, and your order will be delivered to your residential address.
- Provide a commercial address — if you can receive the delivery at a commercial location (for example, a mechanic's shop), there is no additional liftgate fee.
