ShopEarl's warranty coverage, what is covered, and how to file a warranty claim.
Standard warranty coverage
The ShopEarl standard warranty is a minimum 30-day warranty from the date of delivery. Sellers have the right to extend this window — many sellers offer longer coverage, and some part types include extended warranties by default.
Under the warranty, sellers must replace, repair, or refund a customer for any part that is defective or fails under normal use within the warranty period.
Warranty by part condition
- Used parts: Minimum 30-day warranty. Some sellers offer longer coverage.
- Aftermarket parts: Warranty varies by manufacturer. Coverage may range from 30 days to one year or longer depending on the part and seller.
- Remanufactured parts: Engines and transmissions typically include a standard 3-year warranty from the remanufacturer. Other remanufactured parts may vary.
- Premium warranty packages: Some sellers offer paid warranty packages with longer coverage periods and, in some cases, labor reimbursement. If available, these options are shown at checkout.
What is covered
The warranty covers parts that are defective or fail under normal use within the warranty period. This includes:
- Part failure or malfunction during normal use
- Defects in materials or workmanship
- Parts that arrived damaged (report within 24 hours of delivery for freight shipments)
What can void your warranty
The following can void warranty coverage:
- Not inspecting the part on delivery
- Not verifying fitment before installation
- Not following manufacturer-recommended installation procedures
- Skipping required programming or calibration
- Not replacing maintenance items as recommended
- Not reporting freight damage within 24 hours of delivery
- Discarding original packaging before confirming the part is correct
How to file a warranty claim
If a part fails within the warranty period, you can file a warranty claim through our support page:
- Go to Contact Support and select "Warranty Claims"
- Fill out the claim form with your order details, a description of the issue, and photos
- Submit the claim
You can also file a claim by emailing help@shopearl.com, calling (312) 971-2616 (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CT), or messaging through your Orders page.
After you file a claim
ShopEarl receives your claim, confirms receipt, and files it with the seller on your behalf. The seller reviews the claim and makes a decision. ShopEarl follows up with the seller if there is no response within 2 business days.
Important: You must return the faulty part to the seller before a warranty replacement, repair, or refund is provided. A replacement will not be sent before the original item is returned.
Resolution
Warranty claims are typically resolved as either a replacement or a refund, depending on the part type and availability. Used parts are one-of-a-kind, so refunds are more common. Remanufactured and aftermarket parts are more likely to result in a replacement.
Most claims are resolved within 1-2 weeks. Complex cases may take longer.
Note on labor costs: Labor costs are not covered under the standard warranty. Only premium warranty packages may include labor reimbursement.
