Understanding Your Charges

What ShopEarl charges look like on your bank or credit card statement and how to identify your purchase.

ShopEarl charges appear on your bank or credit card statement under the descriptor "SHOPEARL##" followed by your order number. The charge amount matches the total for your order, including the part price, shipping, and applicable taxes.

How to identify a ShopEarl charge:

  1. Look for "SHOPEARL##" followed by your order number in the description on your statement
  2. Match the charge amount to your order total
  3. Check the charge date — it should match the date you placed your order
  4. Go to your Orders page on ShopEarl to view all of your past orders and compare them to your statement

What payment methods does ShopEarl accept?

ShopEarl accepts the following payment methods:

  • Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Affirm (buy now, pay later)
  • Link
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

I don't recognize a charge from ShopEarl — what should I do?

If you see a charge on your statement that you do not recognize:

  1. Check your Orders page to see if the charge matches a recent order
  2. Check if someone in your household may have placed the order using your payment method
  3. If you still do not recognize the charge, contact our support team with the charge amount and date — we can help you identify the order

Important: If you believe a charge is fraudulent, please contact us before filing a dispute with your bank or credit card company. We can investigate and resolve most issues faster than the dispute process. See Having a Problem with Your Order? Contact Us First for more details.

Why does my statement show a pending charge and a posted charge?

When you place an order, your bank may show a temporary authorization hold followed by the actual charge. The authorization hold drops off on its own after seven days. You are only charged once for the order.
